Thermodynamic parameters (Δ G° 0) indicated a spontaneous and endothermic adsorption process.

The adsorption kinetics described by the pseudo-second-order diffusion models, suggesting that the rate-limiting step in adsorption was chemical sorption. Coordination number: the number of bonds formed between the metal ion and the ligands (see e) in a complex ion. Counter ions: anions or cations that balance the charge on a complex ion in a coordina-tion compound. The isothermal adsorption data fitted well to Langmuir equation with the maximum adsorption capacities of 227.27 mg/g for porous COCB beads and 175.44 mg/g for non-porous COCB beads at pH 5.0. Complex ion: a charged species consisting of a metal ion surrounded by ligands (see e). Adsorption of Cu(II) ions onto COCB beads was pH-dependent. The XRD analysis shows that Cu(II) ions can form complexes with chitosan and oxalate. These ions are also referred to as ethanedioate. Escitalopram Oxalate is useful in the treatment of anxiety and depression. Oxalate ion: It contains four oxygen atoms that have lone electron pairs. Some Oxalate like calcium oxalate is useful in the manufacturing of ceramic glazes. The COCB beads were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). With the help of X-ray crystallography, we can see its simple structure which appears as a planar conformation with symmetry. In this study, a chitosan–oxalate complex biosorbent (COCB) was prepared by an iontropic cross-linking method. Oxalic acid, an effective metal-chelating ligand, is abundant in natural resources.
